Nuvora AI Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

Overview

Nuvora AI helps users make general wellness food decisions from meals, labels, barcodes, menus, and typed food descriptions. This policy explains what data is processed, why it is used, and what controls are available.

Nuvora AI is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, prevention, or cure for any disease or condition.

Information We Process

  • Food scan content: camera captures, selected photos, barcode payloads, nutrition-label OCR, menu OCR, and typed food descriptions.
  • Profile and goals: goal, pace, dietary preferences, allergens, activity level, and target settings entered in the app.
  • Food results: nutrition estimates, fit scores, saved meals, weekly planning signals, and review insights.
  • Subscription data: Nuvora Plus entitlement state, product identifiers, purchase status, and RevenueCat/App Store events.
  • Identifiers: an app-generated user ID used to connect app requests with backend records and subscription state.
  • Product interaction events: scan starts, successful scans, quota-limit moments, paywall views, purchase funnel outcomes, and feature actions needed to understand product reliability and conversion.
  • Operational data: diagnostics, request metadata, and security logs needed to run and protect the service.

How We Use Information

  • Provide food decisions, nutrition estimates, menu ranking, smart swaps, weekly planning, and coaching-style summaries.
  • Maintain scan quotas, Nuvora Plus entitlement state, and subscription restore behavior.
  • Measure first-party product funnels, such as scan completion and Plus conversion, without advertising tracking.
  • Improve reliability, safety, fraud prevention, and abuse detection.
  • Support export and deletion controls available in the app.

AI Processing

In production, Nuvora AI may send user-selected food images, recognized text, barcode context, typed descriptions, and profile context to OpenAI through the Nuvora AI Go backend for nutrition estimation and food-decision support.

Production configuration must use the OpenAI API with account settings appropriate for user content. Final retention, logging, and training settings depend on the production OpenAI account configuration and must be reflected here before public release.

Third-Party Services

  • OpenAI API for AI-powered food analysis.
  • RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management.
  • Apple App Store / StoreKit for purchases, restore purchases, and subscription management.
  • Hosting, logging, or crash-reporting providers if enabled for the production backend or app release.

Anonymous App Account

Nuvora AI does not require users to create an email/password account in the current release. The app creates an app-generated user ID and receives a backend-issued client session token so it can sync scan, planning, subscription, export, and deletion requests.

The client session token is used by the iOS app to authenticate requests for that app-generated user ID. The public website does not offer account login, web export, or web deletion in this release.

Photos And Camera

Food photos are processed only when users capture a photo or select an image. Nuvora AI does not browse the full photo library. Meal photos are not saved unless the user opts into saving or improvement settings inside the app.

Export And Deletion

The iOS app includes data export and account data deletion controls in Profile. When the production backend is enabled, those controls request a backend export or deletion for the app-generated user ID, including saved meals, smart cart items, product favorites, menu orders, planned meals, subscription snapshots, quota state, and first-party product interaction events. Local app data is cleared after backend deletion is confirmed; if confirmation fails, local data is kept so deletion can be retried for the same app-generated user ID.

The public Account Center explains the in-app deletion path, deletion scope, support fallback, and Apple subscription boundary. After deletion, the backend may keep a one-way deletion marker for the app-generated user ID to prevent provider events or stale app requests from recreating deleted backend records.

Account Center And In-App Deletion

The Account Center is a public help page for App Review and users. It does not collect credentials and does not send export or deletion requests. To export or delete Nuvora AI account data, use the controls inside Nuvora AI at Profile > Data & privacy.

Children And Safety

Nuvora AI is designed for general wellness food decisions. It should not be used for high-risk weight-loss advice, eating disorder support, medical nutrition therapy, or urgent health decisions. Users should consult qualified healthcare professionals for medical or individualized dietary care.
